Bollywood Heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor‘s much awaited movie Bombay Velvet has failed miserably at the Box Office. This was RK juniors first film in two years but it opened to poor reviews. The actor says that Bombay Velvet debacle has left him insecure. Ranbir Kapoor was seen playing the role of a gangster for the first time in his career. The Anurag Kashyap magnum opus that was made to a tune of of Rs 80 crore has scraped together a meagre Rs.20 crores.
Ranbir Kapoor has confessed that, “There’s a sense of insecurity that’s starting to trend inside of me. I’m feeling a sense of friction where I really don’t know what’s happening with my career. I know what’s happening with my work but I don’t know what’s going to happen with my career.”
Ranbir Kapoor’s Bombay Velvet might have not been accepted by the theatre goers but this does not mean that it’s over for the Kapoor scion. He will soon be seen in Imtiaz Ali’s Tamasha with ex girlfriend Deepika Padukone. The two had given the years biggest hit in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. Then there is Jagga Jasoos with present girlfriend Katrina Kaif. This jodi too has given a hit in Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani. After that there is a biopic on Sanjay Dutt too.
So one failure does not mark the end of an actor of Ranbir Kapoor’s caliber.
