SS Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali 2‘ is yet to hit the theatres on April 28, 2017 and the director has already started working on his next, which is touted to be a trilogy based on the epic ‘Mahabharata’.
The movie will reportedly go on floors in 2018 and will be huge considering the starcast that Rajamouli intends for the same. According to reports, the filmmaker wants to cater to a larger audience and a source says, “Rajamouli is currently busy with ‘Baahubali 2’, but he is thrilled about ‘Mahabharata’. He wants to take Aamir Khan, Rajinikanth and Mohanlal on board for this project. He is yet to decide on the characters these stars will portray.” (Also Read: Did SS Rajamouli offer a role to Amitabh Bachchan in ‘Baahubali 3’?)
Reports also suggested how the director will be making the trilogy in a budget of a whopping Rs 400 crore. It will be shot in three languages, Telugu, Tamil and Hindi, simultaneously.
In fact, at a recent event, Aamir had expressed his interest of working with the director if he ever plans to make ‘Mahabharata’. He had said “I am a huge fan of Rajamouli’s work and if he ever plans to make Mahabharata, I’d love to play Krishna or Karna. I might actually go with Krishna.”
This will surely be a huge collaboration, if things work out well.
