Irrfan Khan-starrer ‘Hindi Medium’ showed good growth on Saturday as the movie did a business of Rs 4 crore nett and that’s 60% more than the Friday business. Even if the overall business of Rs 6.50 crore is less in entirety, the fact that the movie showed growth on the second day gives a ray of hope to the team and Monday will be the deciding day in terms of where the movie will be headed, as far as box office numbers are concerned. Due to the IPL finale, the movie may not get the desired amount of numbers even on Sunday, but some growth is surely expected considering the rave reviews.
On the other hand, Mohit Suri’s ‘Half Girlfriend’ starring Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead roles did a similar business as it did on Friday. The movie raked in Rs 10.25 crore nett on Saturday and that’s no growth from the Friday business which was almost the same. But, the overall business of the movie is Rs 20.25 crore nett and that’s way above the business of ‘Hindi Medium’. The movie needed at least 20% growth on Saturday to guarantee its success but that hasn’t been the case. Let’s see how the movie fares until Monday.
So, if we compare both the movies, then of course ‘Half Girlfriend’ is leading, but ‘Hindi Medium’ has shown a good growth on Saturday, so there is hope for the movie.
