Bollywood star Vicky Kaushal is one of the most talented and versatile actors in Bollywood. The actor will soon be seen essaying the role of Field Marshall Sam Manekshaw. Vicky will be playing the titular role in the Meghna Gulzar directorial.
Recently Vicky Kaushal took to Instagram and shared that he has begun prepping for the role of Sam Manekshaw. He wrote, “Here we go Prep starts!!! #SAMBAHADUR . @meghnagulzar @rsvpmovies (sic).”
The actor shared a glimpse of his prep for the film as he had his copy of the script, a pen and a diary and some pictures of Sam Manekshaw placed on a table.

Speaking about playing Sam Manekshaw, the actor said, “I had always heard stories about Sam Bahadur from my parents who hail from Punjab and have seen the 1971 war but when I read the script I was completely blown away. He is a hero and patriot who is still remembered and loved to this day and capturing his spirit in the film is of the highest importance to me.”
Sam Bahadur is directed by Meghna Gulzar and produced by Ronnie Screwala. The movie also features Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh in pivotal roles. The movie marks a second collaboration between Vicky and Meghana after Raazi.
For the unversed, Sam Manekshaw’s military career spanned four decades and five wars. He was the first Indian Army officer to be promoted to the rank of Field Marshal. His military victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak war led to the creation of Bangladesh.
On the work front, Vicky Kaushal has the Immortal Ashwatthama, Govinda Mera Naam and an untitled film with Sara Ali Khan.
