Taapsee Pannu’s last Hindi film ‘Naam Shabana’ featured her in a never seen before avatar kicking ass on the big screen. It was during the promotions of this film when she had said the one thing that stayed with her (from the film) is the ability to defend herself. Taapsee was even a part of a video with her co-star Akshay Kumar, where she demonstrated self-defence techniques for women. Continuing to be a part of this initiative, the actress is now collaborating with FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO) for a self-defence training event.
Recently, Taapsee Pannu said in a statement, “I have always tried to push the importance of self-defence in girls. It is more than just learning martial arts, it’s about instilling this confidence amongst girls that they are capable of taking care of themselves. They need to be their own heroes.” [sic] (Also Read: Taapsee Pannu talks about doing a glamorous role in ‘Judwaa 2’)
Many would be aware of this fact that Taapsee’s co-star Akshay Kumar has launched a Women’s Self Defence Centre (WSDC) along with Aaditya Thackeray, where women are given free training on self defence.
Recently, Taapsee has joined hands with them to contribute to this initiative and will be part of an event held by them as a special guest.
The actress even includes practicing martial arts as a fitness routine. She will be seen interacting with the audience and will also present the self defence demonstrations at the event.
Talking about films, Taapsee Pannu will next be seen in ‘Judwaa 2’ along with Varun Dhawan and Jacqueline Fernandez. The film is slated to hit the screens on September 29, 2017.
