On Monday (July 4), the Bombay High Court granted bail to Siddharth Pithani, the former flatmate of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. He was arrested in a drugs case related to Sushant’s death. As per reports, single bench of Justice Bharati Dangre granted bail to Pithani on a bond of Rs 50,000.

As reported by PTI, he had sought bail, claiming he was framed in a false case. In his bail plea, he had claimed that he was never found in possession of any drugs, and nothing which could suggest he was involved in drug trafficking was recovered from him.

“Bombay High Court grants bail to Siddharth Pithani, a friend of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, on a surety amount of Rs 50,000 in connection with the drug case related to the actor’s death case,” read ANI’s tweet.

For the unversed, he was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in, 2021 from Hyderabad. NCB who was probing the drug angle took action against Siddharth after they recovered the details from his phone and WhatsApp chat alleged that he has contacts with some drug suppliers. He was booked under section 27 (A) (financing illicit traffic and harboring offenders) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, among other charges. In June 2021, Pithani was given an interim relief by NDPS court for his wedding. The court asked Pithani to surrender on July 2 after his wedding. His bail plea was pending since January 2022.

Apart from Pithani, Sushant Singh Rajput’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik were also arrested in the drugs case but they were granted bail later. Even several Bollywood celebs like Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor and others were investigated in the drug case.
