Social media went berserk when the title of Imtiaz Ali’s next romantic movie starring Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma in the lead was announced. The movie’s title ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ earned mixed reviews with many people bashing the title and some even stating that the movie seems like a copy of the 80’s American rom-com ‘When Harry Met Sally’. Many believed it to be a Hindi remake of the movie and slammed the title and the posters.
Now, SRK has refuted these rumours of his movie being copied from the Hollywood movie. Reacting on these rumours, SRK opened up with a leading news agency. He said, “The films have no similarity, except for the fact that we can hope our movie can also be one of that kind of unabashed classic love stories. ‘When Harry Met Sally’ is one of the greatest love stories ever made in the history of world cinema… There’s nothing about the stories, which is similar. It is quite original, a fun space love story by Imtiaz Ali. But it is a takeoff from there (‘When Harry Met Sally’) as that movie is a classic. It is a way to attribute.” (Also Read: ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ upsets real life Sejal but Shah Rukh Khan has an epic answer for her!)
The movie starring Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma in the lead roles is slated to release on August 4, 2017.
