Salman Khan 'Hit-And-Run-Case' :

Superstar Salman Khan, will today be appearing before a Mumbai Court in the re-trial of his 2002 hit-and-run-case. On September 2002, Mr Khan was allegedly driving a Toyota Land Cruiser that ran over a group of people sleeping on the pavement outside a bakery in suburban Bandra. One person was killed and four others were injured in the accident. Today  the eyewitnesses are expected to depose before the court and they may be asked to identify Mr. Khan, as the person who was driving the car during the incident.




As per sources, Salman Khan was earlier being tried for the lesser offence of causing death by negligence, which carries a punishment of upto two years in jail. On December 5 last year, the court ordered a fresh trial after the charges against the actor were enhanced to culpable homicide not amounting to murder. If Salman Khan is convicted, he could face a prison term of upto 10 years.

The re-trial began on April 29 with the partial deposition of one witness.
