Saif Ali Khan is soon to make a comeback as a producer with ‘Jawani Janeman’. Previously, in 2014, he had produced and acted in ‘Happy Ending’ that also starred Ileana D’Cruz. ‘Jawani Janeman’ is a comedy flick in which Saif is playing the lead and it will be helmed by National Award winning director Nitin Kakkar who won the best feature film award for his comedy film ‘Filmistaan’ in 2013.
‘Jawani Janeman’ will go on floors in the first half of 2019. Producer Jay Shewakramani will jointly be producing the film with Saif. Jay told Mirror, “I have worked with Saif as a creative producer on ‘Race’ and ‘Race 2’ and we have been good friends for a long time. When I ventured out to produce a film on my own, Saif wanted to get back into it at the same time and this seemed like the perfect project for both of us. It is a coming-of-age story of a 40-year-old man and revolves around his relationship with his daughter.”

Jay further added, “Saif and I are big fans of ‘Filmistaan’. When I took the film to Nitin, he loved it and immediately came on board. Saif hasn’t delved into this space for a while now so he decided to produce the film alongside acting in it.”
Hussain Dalal, who has written dialogues for the movie said that he is already ready with his draft. “There will be extensive readings with the cast once everyone is locked. We will be spending some time on giving Saif’s character the perfect look,” added Hussain.
Earlier there was news that Sara Ali Khan might star along with her dad Saif but now Jay has rubbished this rumour saying, “We haven’t cast anyone yet.”
