Ranbir Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt starrer Shamshera is one of the most anticipated films of this year. Ranbir will be playing a double role for the first time in his career. The Shamshera trailer was released recently and it impressed fans. It showed Ranbir fighting against Sanjay to fulfill his father’s legacy. Now, Ranbir opened up about being pitted against Sanjay in the film.

ETimes quoted Ranbir saying, “It’s amazing that Sanjay Dutt is my antagonist! When I was 10 or 11, had Sanjay Dutt’s poster in my cupboard. Then eventually getting to play him in a biopic directed by Rajkumar Hirani was a dream come true.”

He added, “After finally getting an opportunity to work with him, to act with him, where I am the protagonist and he is the antagonist, it’s incredible! Sanjay Dutt has given us some epic villains with his brilliant acting performances and people are going to love him as Shuddh Singh in Shamshera.”

Sanjay and Ranbir share a great bond with each other. Ranbir had played Sanjay in his biopic ‘Sanju’ and delivered a phenomenal performance in it. Ranbir and Sanjay’s Shamshera also stars Vaani Kapoor and is slated to hit the screens in July.

Apart from Shamshera, Ranbir also has Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra in his pipeline. Ranbir will be sharing screen space with wife, actor Alia Bhatt in the same. Brahmastra also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy. Ranbir also has Luv Ranjan’s upcoming film with Shraddha Kapoor.

On the personal front, Ranbir is all set to become a father. On Monday, Alia Bhatt shared the pregnancy news on Instagram. The actress shared a picture from the hospital and wrote, “Our Baby… coming soon.”
