Sushant Singh Rajput took his life yesterday by hanging himself at his Bandra residence. The 34-year old actor had been one of the few actors among the younger lot who had attained greatness by his roles and the way he used to talk at interviews, etc. But did you all know how his journey in Bollywood began? Ace casting director Mukesh Chhabra, who is soon turning director with Sushant Singh Rajput’s upcoming film ‘Dil Bechara, speaks up about how SSR was discovered by him.
Talking to Bollywood Bubble Mukesh Chhabra had once spilled the beans on how he had cast Sushant Singh Rajput. Have a look at the video here:
Mukesh said, “I met Sushant at Chai Coffee. After that, he had come to my office to met me. Shobha Sant had made me meet Sushant Singh Rajput once again. That was the first time I had seen him, and after that, I tested him, and then cast him for ‘Kai Po Che’.”
Quite an interesting story, we must say!
Sushant and Mukesh went on to become great friends ever since that day. They have worked together in many projects and when Mukesh was about to turn director with ‘The Fault In Our Stars’ remake, he had no one but Sushant in his mind for the lead role of the film.
‘Dil Bechara’ is all ready for release and would be probably Sushant’s last film to release. However, the film might not see a theatrical release due to the theatres being shut now. The makers are looking at releasing the film on OTT. A deal with Disney+Hotstar has been struck, and we might soon get to see Sushant spread his magic for the last time onscreen.
