Director mehul kumar Supports Nana Patekar

There are no dearth of sexual assault cases in Hollywood as well as Bollywood. While some victim stays quiet whereas others open up. Tanushree Dutta is one of those actresses who has shaken the entire industry with her recent allegations against Nana Patekar. The actress accused Nana of harassing and intimidating her while shooting for a song of 2008 film ‘Horn Ok Pleassss’. While many Bollywood celebs came forward to support Tanushree, there is one renowned director who has come in support of Nana Patekar.

Mehul Kumar, who had given three hits like ‘Tirangaa’ (1992), ‘Krantiveer (1994), and ‘Kohram’ (1999) with Nana Patekar has stood by the actor in this recent controversy. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, Mehul said, “I can’t comment on what is right or what is wrong. I know Nana very well. I have done three films with him. I have worked with him in movies like ‘Tirangaa’, ‘Krantiveer’ and ‘Kohram’. Nana Patekar is short-tempered, but he cannot go to such an extent.”

Also, Rima Sen who was in the lead role in ‘Horn Ok Pleassss’ defended Nana. She even said that he was short-tempered but not a sexual offender. The actress said, ‘He (Nana) has always treated me very well, in fact, he treated me like his daughter. Also, we should know his side of the story, before jumping to any conclusion. I feel, a lot depends on the women of the industry and their ambition. If you are talking about the #MeToo movement, there are many offenders, including the 90s stars.”

The actress cited her own example, saying, “I was not overambitious…that’s why I avoided them. That’s why I couldn’t do much, even though I deserved a lot, but I have no regrets as I made my choices consciously.”
