Bollywood celebrities such as Kangana Ranaut, Anil Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, and Imran Khan inaugurated The fourth edition of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM). The fest was launched by State Minister for Creative Industries Martin Foley.
There was double joy, as the Festival co-coincided with India’s Independence Day. It will be celebrated with a flag-raising ceremony by the Indian High Commissioner Navdeep Suri and Anil Kapoor, which will be followed by a mass Bollywood dance competition open to all dancers.
Indian Film Festival of Melbourne will play host to 55 films from India, Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh. The movies will be screened around the cultural events. Lastly there will be a huge feast to Mark the Independence day at the Federation Square.
The Indian Film Festival Of Melbourne is to foster the young talent and give an opportunity to filmmakers to showcase their films by participating in it. Quite similar to the way that Nageesh Kukunoor had bagged the prize for his film ‘Dhanak’ at Berlin Film Festival. .
