Last week’s release, ‘Rock On 2‘ has certainly not set the cash register ringing at the Box office, countering the high expectations. Actor Arjun Rampal, who plays one of the leads has recently spoken about this poor performance saying that the timing of the release turned out to be unfortunate. He claims that the main reason for the failure of the movie is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s demonetisation move. Though he also thinks that the move will benefit the country in the long run.
Post the currency ban of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes just 2 days before the release, it certainly affected the box office figures of the movie. Talking about it at the grand finale event of Femina Salon and Spa Hair Heroes, Arjun Rampal said, “Well, when the entire country does not have enough earning, how will ‘Rock On 2’ do business? People don’t have enough money in their hand. It is an unfortunate timing for us and for any other film.”
“‘Rock On 2’ is a good film. I would still request those who have money to please watch the film,” added the actor.
But the ‘Raajneeti’ actor also showed his complete support towards this demonetisation move saying, “I think that in the long term, this decision is going to be good for our country. The move has shaken those people who are involved in the black money business. In future, people will keep their money in banks and pay tax. Thus, the interest rates will drop. I think the quality of life is going to be better.”
Further, now in movies, Arjun Rampal will be seen on the big screen with ‘Kahaani 2’ co-starring Vidya Balan. It is slated to release on December 2.
