Veteran actor Hema Malini is honoured with the Indian Film Personality of the Year 2021 Award. The Actor-turned-politician receives the award at the 52nd edition of the International Film Festival of India. Hollywood legend Martin Scorsese and Hungarian director Istvan Szabo were awarded the Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award. Lyricist Prasoon Joshi is also conferred with the Indian Personality of the Year award.

The 52nd annual International Film Festival of India (IFFI) began in Goa on Saturday. Bollywood celebrities such as Ranveer Singh, Salman Khan performed at the prestigious award function. The festival will continue for nine days in a hybrid format – virtual and physical. It is starting on November 20 and ends on the 28th of the month. Over 75 celebrities will reportedly attend the function.

IFFI organizers also announced the line-up for the Indian Panorama segment for 2021. Regional-language movies are set to dominate the segment. A total of 624 entries were received from 96 countries. From India 44 movies in 18 languages will be showcased. A total of 48 international films from nearly 75 nations will be screened at the festival. Major OTT platforms including Netflix, Amazon, Sony among others have also participated in IFFI.
The festival is also set to provide a platform for 75 actors, filmmakers, singers, scriptwriters to showcase their talents to the world. It will also provide master classes programmes to young talents hosted by renowned and respected personalities of the industry.
