Vidya Balan is currently gearing up for the release of her upcoming crime thriller Jalsa. The movie also features Shefali Shah in a pivotal role.
In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble’s host Bhavna Agarwal, Vidya Balan spoke about how there is a dearth of quality women-centric films. She further added that more and more people should invest money in women-oriented films.
Vidya Balan said, “I want people to invest more money in our films. I also wish the audiences to come to the theatres to watch our films.”

Vidya Balan also revealed that there is a change in the film industry. She said, “Women are being seen and portrayed as people, not just women in relation to the men in the story. I think that’s a huge change. I’ve been very fortunate to be a part of many films that have taken the narrative forward. There’s never been an attempt to make a point of anything. It’s just about how cinema is evolving. How women’s roles are evolving.”
