It was only this morning that the release date of Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming release ‘Raees‘ was out. The film’s release has been pushed to January 26, 2017, thus avoiding the film’s box office clash with Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’.
Shah Rukh Khan, along with producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, issued a joint statement in this context. “It was not an easy decision to move the film. We understand that this film is highly anticipated. However, a movie of such magnitude requires the appropriate showcasing and therefore, we have decided to shift our release date to 26th January 2017,” the statement read.
Although the clash between the Khans has been averted, this new release date of ‘Raees’ will lead to another clash of the Titans – Hrithik Roshan and Shah Rukh Khan. Interestingly, Hrithik’s ‘Kaabil‘ and Shah Rukh’s ‘Raees’, both are slated to release on January 26, 2017. Third in the line competing with the two films is Ajay Devgn’s ‘Baadshaho’.
In our previous article (dated April 25, 2017), we had already predicted this box office battle, if the release date of ‘Raees’ was changed. Here comes a confirmation. We’re excited for January 2016!
