'31st October' movie release date pushed ahead

All the moviegoers who were waiting to catch Soha Ali Khan and Vir Das starrer ‘31st October‘ on big screens this Friday, may have to wait now for a couple of weeks. The release date of the movie has been pushed ahead from October 7 to October 21 after a PIL was filed against it in the Delhi High Court.

This PIL was filed on Tuesday to stop the release of the movie, which is based on the aftermath of the assassination of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, which had eventually led to the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. According to a report in an agency, the makers are saying that this current problem is coming f a Delhi-based close aide of the Congress party who wants to ban the movie.

Harry Sachdeva, the writer-producer of ’31st October’ has given a statement saying, “It’s been a tough journey ever since I started working on this subject but I didn’t give up then and will not give up now. From the censor to now getting threats, I am strong that I will make this film come to the big screen and people who don’t want this subject to come out, cannot stop the world to know the reality of 1984.” [sic]

Directed by Shivaji Lotan Patil, it is now slated to release on October 21, 2016.
