Bollywood superstar Salman Khan appeared in a trial court in Jodhpur today. The 52-year-old star arrived last night in the city with his sister Alvira Khan, friend Baba Siddiqui and lawyers. The actor challenged his conviction in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case that took place during the shoot of ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’.
Salman’s co-stars Saif Ali Khan, Neelam, Tabu and Sonali Bendre were acquitted on account of lack of evidence. But the Dabangg Khan was convicted and handed a five-year imprisonment on April 5 by Chief Judicial Magistrate Dev Kumar Khatri for killing two blackbucks 19 years ago. He spent two nights in the Jodhpur Central Jail, before he was granted bail by the sessions court on April 7.
District and Session Judge Chandra Kumar Songara ordered the arguments to begin but Salman’s lawyer Mahesh Bora wanted some time. Heeding to his request, Songara adjourned the hearing till July 17. Salman was seen leaving the Jodhpur trial court soon after. He had arrived here on Sunday.
On the work front, Salman Khan is busy wrapping up ‘Race 3’. He will next start work on ‘Bharat’ and also host a new season of much loved show ‘Dus Ka Dum’.
