There has been no respite for the makers of ‘Padmaavat’ as the movie continues to get opposition from Shri Rajput Karni Sena members. The movie which releases today in cinema halls, unfortunately, didn’t release in Rajasthan. Reason?

Shri Rajput Karni Sena members called for a shutdown in Rajasthan as they held rallies and protests in various cities. The movie wasn’t screened in almost 179 screens. Members of the Sena conducted a bike rally which led to a traffic jam. (Also Read: Padmaavat movie review: This visual spectacle with rich performances will win you over)

Nagaur, Banswara, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Sikar, Jaisalmer, Sawai Madhopur, Pratapgarh and Khetdi were majorly impacted due to the shutdown. Tourists were stopped from visiting Chittorgarh fort and Jaisalmer. Now, this could incur some losses for the movie as not getting release in an entire state on its opening day is not a good sign.
